Friends of Fernandina Aviation (FoFA) has awarded its 2023 National Flight Academy scholarships to 10 deserving students,
from Fernandina Middle School, Yulee Middle School, and St. Michael Academy. Each student was required to submit a 250 word essay on Man's Greatest Technological Achievement
,
have a superior grade point average, a recommendation from their Science teacher, and participate in interviews with FoFA members.
To date, FoFA has awarded 56 scholarships to students in Nassau County to attend the National Flight Academy in Pensacola, FL.

THE JOSH BARBER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Friends of Fernandina Aviation (FoFA) awarded their 2023 Joshua Barber Memorial Scholarship to Fernandina Beach High School Senior Cole Perkins. The scholarship will be used to assist in Cole's further education. Cole has been enrolled in the Fernandina Beach Aviation Technology Program for two years and is a student pilot working to obtain his private pilot's license. This fall he plans to attend Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach and major in Aeronautical Engineering. His future plans include a career as a military, commercial or test pilot..
Allyson Mangold is the recipient of the FSCJ Scholarship. She is a second year student enrolled in the Pilot Program A.S. and has completed her private pilot license and instrument rating and wants to be a commercial airline pilot.
